“Outdoing Jesus” Begins February 2!

Jesus made a very curious statement that appears only in the Gospel of John when he said to his disciples, “Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father.” Did you ever wonder what he meant by that? Have you ever heard a sermon about it? Have you
ever been part of a church that took that statement seriously and acted on it?

Doug Pagitt is a pastor who has written a book about this very statement entitled, “Outdoing Jesus, Seven Ways to Live Out the Promise of Greater Than”. We will use this book as a guide to do a small group study to help us gain a better understanding of what this statement means and what it calls us to do as followers of Jesus.

The study will begin the week of February 2 and end on week of April 5. We will initially offer a group meeting on Sundays after church and another on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. The book cost $14.00 a piece and couples may share a book if they so desire. We will begin sign-ups for the class and purchase of the book early in January. Join us in continuing to grow the ministry of Jesus.
