Longwood Hills Congregational Church is a member of the United Church of Christ (UCC). The UCC is a national denomination that encompasses a diverse community of Christians that come together to join faith and service. Every congregation and individual is welcomed and accepted as they are, wherever they may be on their spiritual journey.
The UCC believes in God’s continuing testament and tries to remain attentive to God’s creative movement in the world. They embrace all kinds of communities and new modes of thinking because they believe we should never place a period where God has placed a comma – God is still speaking.
As an organization the United Church of Christ believes the church’s mission is to change lives and actively seeks justice in many civic areas from civil rights to environmentalism. As with members of any family, we at Longwood Hills Congregational Church may not always subscribe to every stance on every issue the UCC publicly takes, but we do fully support their mission and purpose: To love God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength and our neighbor as ourselves, and to welcome all and love all.
