Important Links

Guided Vocal and Performance Vocal tracks

Once you are comfortable with the guided music tracks, practice with the performance tracks UNLESS there is harmony. It is best to continue listening to the guided track in that case until you know which part you will be singing.

If a solo seems too high or too low in spots, message Mrs. Ashley so we can discuss options. We don't want you to learn the whole song in the wrong octave and then try to relearn!

Costume Try On Sign Up

We ask that you sign up for one of the following dates to come in and have you student fitted into their costume. This is an important step in getting them ready for the show. The sooner we can get started on fitting costumes, the easier dress rehearsals will run during camp.  This is a required part of our camp, and if you have conflicts please reach out on the WhatsApp.

When you arrive for costume try-ons, please have some sort of base layer on.  This will ensure that your costume fits as best as possible.

Playbill Bio

Please fill out the form below by May 30th to ensure that your child has a bio in the playbill for their show.

BASE LAYER Information

Base layers at Impact theater are a way for us to allow kids to get into costume and make costume changes backstage.  We ask that you provide your student with the items listed under their character.  If you have any questions about the base layers, please reach out in the WhatsApp Group. Keep in mind that these will be worn under their costume, so lighter weight items will be best.  Please also keep in mind that we will have multiple costume days, where they will be wearing these items. Please try to provide multiple sets of the items, or be sure to wash them between each wearing.

Please also send your child to camp with deodorant, as they will be moving a lot during the show and we want to make sure everyone is comfortable back stage.

Hair and Makeup

ANCESTOR ENSEMBLE: you are all dead- but more Beetlejuice than zombie! This is a great tutorial for ancestors- don’t worry if you don’t have the exact shades of purple, blues and green. You could do this with just white, purple and black. The idea is hollowing out with contouring of cheeks and nose and also the “bruising” dead look with hollowed out eyes as well.

This tutorial uses grease paint make up:

This tutorial uses eyeshadows:

https://youtu.be/wYRNlgklrK8?si=0bjK8ZfiwKFZjHaW

Any drugstore foundation will work- just make sure it’s a shade or two lighter than your skin.

Here is a good clown white, but Amazon has many options: https://a.co/d/7luPGjM

You’ll need a sponge or brushes for blending.

Here is a good grease paint palette: https://a.co/d/i0dgIvD

Here is an eyeshadow palette:  https://a.co/d/4xNQ3Or

You can also use a liquid eyeliner to draw the veins if you’d like, but that’s not necessary.

$3 liquid eyeliner: https://a.co/d/5bcE0Sa

This is definitely going to be something you’ll want to practice a few times- it’s fun to play with different color variations- you can also use a brush to stipple green and black and this makes a nice moldy look. I don’t necessarily want all the ancestors to look exactly the same- you are from different eras and some have been dead longer than others!

For your hair- we are looking for white or grey hair for all ancestors. If you are comfortable, you can try hair makeup or a spray.

If you would prefer a wig, please let us know ASAP.

ADDAMS FAMILY:

Morticia: There are a lot of YouTube tutorials, so feel free to explore! The look is pretty recognizable and standard.

https://youtu.be/_O8oaT1XaPQ?si=oXzXqyrQgAzVw4zY

We will provide a wig unless you would like to provide one. They have very inexpensive options on Amazon: https://a.co/d/a8MQ7ZQ

You will want to practice with your wig on sooner rather than later- wigs can cause headaches and we want to make sure you are comfortable.

Gomez: Also very recognizable. Pale, dramatic brows and mustache, black slicked back hair.

Make up: https://youtu.be/e-zB37PJVy0?si=9NjVcGvaH4opCjWv

Hair: if you don’t have black hair, consider spraying it or we can look at a wig.

Fester: the biggest distinguishing feature is baldness! We will have fun playing with a bald cap.

You can use the ancestor videos above as a guide- you aren’t dead, but you have the same “look”. Here’s an Uncle Fester specific video if you’re interested in more contouring and playing with eyeshadows: https://youtu.be/I3qDnVBG1Qc?si=4R8Of_-IzaeD4Fft

Wednesday: have fun with YOUR version of Wednesday. Depending on your hair, we can do the classic two braids or something more modern. If you’d like or need a wig, that’s always an option.

Here is a tutorial for make up, but there are loads on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_d0n9jY6HDk?si=RDFuuNT3R-mSYz70

Pugsley: Here’s a fun make up tutorial: https://youtu.be/ta0FLfp-o_Q?si=lg82rjOLrkh4nQ8d

Hair just needs to be kind of “home cut” looking brownish hair.

Grandma: Definitely old, pale, but not dead! Grandma is vibrant and funny. But she’s suuuuper old. Here’s a great age lines tutorial: https://youtu.be/CQmLZ6yBidE?si=AnBe-xRxmK_akTay

Hair: depending on your natural hair, we can talk about the “wild Granny” hair look- either achieved with spray or a wig. Something like this: https://a.co/d/77cWLqQ

Lurch: like Fester & Grandma- kind of dead-ish. He’s a Frankenstein reference, so that square head look and veins. This tutorial looks easy and doable: https://youtu.be/TkSGSESIUGI?si=7HeMqIHtPgN2Yfxv

Hair: combed in that really awkward way… we can look at your natural hair and play with it.

BEINEKE FAMILY:

Mal & Lucas:  No special make up needed! You’re just a “normal” guy.

https://youtu.be/qHONVubNtCc?si=b34srfn7f42XEjmg

This is a very basic, but good tutorial for boys’ stage makeup. NO EYELINER. A foundation, setting powder, blush and natural lip are plenty for the boys!

Hair neat and tidy.

Alice: You be in a NATURAL women’s stage makeup look. This tutorial is a little heavy on the eyeliner, but otherwise good.

https://youtu.be/2K_4VFrOwgE?si=MnHwf2V5jM1n_iJP

Hair: we can discuss based on your natural hair.
